Being awestruck with the most successful people out there is a common feeling and is natural too. But, sometimes we tend to associate the glamour and brightness of success with luck. We feel successful ones are endowed with it.

Well, they are not. They have worked hard and earned every bit of who they are today. What we need to focus on are the most important traits and habits of the most successful people. Here, I am listing down some of the traits that are surely possessed by successful people.

These traits are almost essential ingredients for success.

They Visualize Their Dreams Regularly

I would be lying if I don’t begin with this. If you want a dream or aim to materialize, you have to visualize it every single day. There is no other way about it. If you think that you are going to think about achieving something one day and it will happen to you just like that, it won’t.

Just like they say, ‘Thoughts become things.’

The simple science behind it is when you visualize and practice in your mind what you want to achieve, your subconscious mind becomes ready for it and starting work in that direction becomes easier then. The logic is that you kind of start making time for that dream which was otherwise only a passing fancy.

Once my Professor in college said that if you want to wake up early every morning, visualize it every night before sleeping. Tell your subconscious mind that I have to wake up early tomorrow and how it is going to feel amazing. Guess what, it worked after practice for a few days. And I followed the same during my ProofHub journey. The dream of making one such product could not materialize had I not constantly visualized my aim in my mind.

So, visualize. Think about what you want to achieve and what you will need to do to reach there. You will already find yourself on that path.

They Never Stop Learning

Do you know that former US President Barack Obama used to read for one hour daily while in office?

Do you know that Warren Buffet, the best investor of all time, invested 80% of his time in reading and learning?

Do you know that Bill Gates used to take special reading vacations every year?

I believe that these facts very well establish that successful people are lifelong learners.

Learning is definitely the best investment that successful people make in their lives.

If you wonder how all the great people make time to read through their busy schedules. You can read my article on 5- hour rule to help you make learning your regular habit.

They Practice Resilience

Resilience is one common quality possessed by all successful people. The meaning of resilience is to get up every time you fall. Successful people do not give in to hardships rather they see setbacks as the catalysts of success.

There is no one who gets success 100% of the time. And we all know successful names who have the history of failing multiple times and never giving up.

JK Rowling got rejected by 12 publishers and he sold his first Harry Potter Book in exchange for peanuts.

Great American writer Jay- z was signed by no record label when he started out.

How did these people reach envious levels of success?

The answer is they never gave up. They embraced their failures and exercised resilience and reached where they are.

Although I am not Jay Z, I know a little about developing resilience. From my dream of becoming an entrepreneur to becoming the CEO of ProofHub, I had my journey where I chose to be resilient several times. Resilience is a hard choice one makes but surely better than giving up and perishing. If I can, you

They Exercise a Pattern Interrupt

The same routine every day is bound to cause monotony. While most people tend to stay in the same web of repetition, successful people go for a pattern interrupt to kill boredom and be more productive on coming back to the routine.

Pattern interrupt is a technique that psychologists use to change behavior and thoughts. The idea is that we can relinquish the power of behavior by interrupting it for some time. Continuous working makes us feel stuck and signing in for something different can help us reinvigorate.

So, when work overwhelms you, take a break like most successful people. Learn a new dance form, go for a picnic or maybe go for a tech-free vacation with someone you love.

They collaborate

Successful people never undermine the importance of collaboration. They know that when they interact with others, doors to new possibilities and revelations are opened and work becomes easier.

We, at ProofHub, make sure that every time a new team member joins in, they should get complete autonomy to share their point of view on the interface and functionality of the software.

Similarly, our team collaborates on everything through ProofHub. We do brainstorming, discussions, we share files, we provide feedback and collaborate on tasks to make every project a success.

They Reflect Upon Things

Reflecting upon past achievements and failures is really important to succeed and is one of the primary traits of successful people. Reflecting leads to a critical analysis of the past actions and their outcomes.

Reflecting on the past helps us understand what worked and what did not. While Journaling can be a good way of recording ideas, keeping thoughts organized and reflecting, you can do this on the go by using ProofHub notes. You can also share these notes with other team members as well as keep them private.

The inbuilt reports of ProofHub can be yet another easy way of reflecting upon your team performance and the bottlenecks that need attention.

They Commit First, Figure Out Later

No one came with everything already figured out in this world. Everyone learns with trials and errors in life. Moreover, successful people believe that they can figure out everything when a situation demands so. This faith leads them to expand to those horizons which they are not yet familiar with.

This approach leads to a lot of new learning, new experiences, new achievements and more success. Whereas being confined to what you already know and accepting only similar challenges does not lead to outstanding success.

So you can also adapt to this one from today and expand your knowledge and experiences.

They Exercise

However cliched it may sound, exercise remains a common trait among most successful people. Different physical exercises have a plethora of benefits like improvement of memory, reduction of stress, etc.

The workout goes hand in hand with hard work. The most successful entrepreneurs like Richard Branson (started almost 400 companies) believe that regular physical activity gives an immense amount of boost to productivity. President Barack Obama is another example who made sure that he runs for 45 minutes every day before assuming his duties.

Building a strong career needs the strength of body and mind which exercise can provide.
