Let’s face it: being stressed will make you grumpy and irritated too. As the work is getting more demanding and complex, anxiety and burnout are not uncommon. Staying productive is challenging. And for me, being a CEO of ProofHub, managing stress was a tough row to hoe.

I was prone to stressful situations related to managing teams, making timely product releases, taking care of customers’ demands, and working under high levels of pressure around the clock. Removing stress from my life because of such situations was an unattainable goal for me, but I managed.

  1. Morning Routine to Start the Day Stress-Free

Mornings can be stressful when your previous day has been bad or you’ve got some deadlines to reach. This is common for anyone. Whether you are an organized employee or CEO. You’d be fighting to get through this daily. But having a clearly defined morning routine and a calendar to schedule the days can eliminate some potential stress.

If you’re also the one who checks the email before getting out of bed, you’re deciding the fate of your day. You’re stressing yourself before you are actually stressed. Slow down and re-evaluate your day.

Focus on your to-dos and write down all notable items on your ‘to-do’ list. This is the best way to start your morning. Or even better do this the previous day, so your days are organized. The less information you keep in your head, the more productive you will be.

Let your mornings be stress-free. Manage your to-do on ProofHub.

2. Make A Plan… And Be Realistic

Why make a plan in the first place?

  • You’ll have more control over your day
  • You’ll be more efficient
  • You’ll get more done
  • You’ll have more peace of mind

Apple CEO Tim Cook starts his week off early by scheduling important phone calls for Sunday nights. This gives him an idea of what he wants to accomplish to move through the day — without being worried that some details will be forgotten or some overdue tasks can cause stress.

For me, planning the day has been substantially a stress reliever. When I started planning and scheduling the activities, I realized the number of hours I was wasting every day worrying about what to do and when to do.

3. Set Your Priorities Straight

Stress can leave you feeling drained and can lead to burnout if not managed effectively. I have realized that filling up the to-do list with tasks that are not important but you have to perform to them anyway is a stressful way to live.

It’s time that you decide what is essential. This step will let you spend your time on what matters and stop you from the struggle to figure out your priorities. Stop spending your time and focus on things that are not on the priority list and are taking a huge part of your mental focus. These things do not add value to your life but affect your mental strength.

Finally, devote the focus on your list of top priorities by setting your priorities on tools like ProofHub where you can set a list as per your priorities. Doing so kills unnecessary thoughts of not so important things.

4. The Power of Single-Tasking

I was a big fan of multi-tasking because I was in the wrong impression that multi-tasking is a popular strategy for productivity. But in reality, not only is multitasking more stressful and but also, less productive than single-tasking. When doing multiple tasks at a time our brain frantically switches back and forth.

Stop multi-tasking. ProofHub is the best solution. Try now.

Our mind will be racing as it tries to quickly shift focus from one task to another. It makes it difficult to pay close attention to detail. If you’re trying to grab too much information at the same time, there are chances you will forget things being under stress. But a simple trick is to learn how to do one thing at a time. This will boost the productivity and output of your work.

5. Train the Brain to Deal With Chaos

Life can be chaotic when you have thousands of responsibilities and a long to-do list. Neuroscience research shows that the practice of mindfulness can help your brain to embrace the chaos and create mental habits that promote resilience.

The main focus should be to train the brain to be mindful to collaborate and work more effectively. You should watch your thoughts and fear. Also, remove unnecessary tasks from your to-do list, lessen your commitments, eat healthy, and regularly exercise. Technology can also be helpful, too: Try out a few mindfulness apps like Calm, Headspace, and the Muse.

HAVE A GOOD LAUGH

This is a pro tip that goes well for anyone and everyone. It does wonders and is a universal way out to relieve stress. A little bit of laughter can do off your mental and physical load. It increases the endorphins that are released by your brain which in turn, stimulate your heart, lungs, and stimulates circulation.

Conclusion

You’ll likely need to find ways to relieve yourself of stress. I am hoping these tips will bring a change in your life. Don’t forget to tell us about your experience with stress and how you deal with stressful conditions?
