This One Habit Is Stopping You From Growing In Your Life

I’ve always been a thinker. Rather, an overthinker. It was not until I decided to change myself from being a thinker to a doer that I tasted success.

ProofHub was not my first idea. However, it was the first one that I executed fully. Now, when I look back at it, I only have one thing in mind — ideas don’t guarantee that you will succeed. It is their execution that does.

“Want to simplify the way you manage your teams and work? Stop relying on emails and start using ProofHub.”

In fact, your ideas are worth nothing because there can be thousands of others who might have similar ideas and execute them before you do. While you are satisfied with the slight boost of dopamine that you get only at the thought of an idea, there are others who will actually go ahead and execute those ideas. The ones who do it taste success.

What does this imply: stop being a thinker (over), and become a doer!

Thinking is important, but doing is vital!

It is important to be a thinker — that’s how you come up with ideas. But, it is vital to execute those ideas instead of just coming up with them. Here’s how you can begin this transformation:

  • Take Action

Based on my personal experience, I’d like to say ‘when I act on an idea within say 24–48 hours of getting it, I end up accomplishing it.’

So, if you want to achieve something, start acting on those ideas.

For instance, instead of just thinking that you will create a blog, which will yield success, break down the idea into actionable steps. Like, creating a to-do list of things you need to start the blog. And then start ticking them off the list one by one.

  • Build Confidence

One of the many reasons people cannot execute their ideas is that they are not confident that it’s perfect.

Trust me; ideas are never perfect. You act on them, revise, and improve. However, for all of this to happen — you need to be confident enough to start!

How to build confidence? By accepting the risk involved in it. When you accept the risks involved in execution, you are better prepared for everything that comes your way.

  • Keep Your Focus On Growth

Lastly, don’t let your focus shift from growth. Once you set things in motion, you have to keep pushing until you reach the ultimate goal. That’s what a growth mindset is all about!

There are chances that you will find obstacles on the way, but that’s part of the journey. Quitting in between won’t get you anywhere. As Idowu Koyenikan likes to put it — if you quit on the process, you are quitting on the result.

Now, you have to ask yourself — are you happy being where you are? Or do you want to grow in life? If your answer resonates with the latter, you need to stop thinking and start doing.

All the best!
